Many people think you save money by buying a home that's a short sale or foreclosure. That's not necessarily true. Even if you do save money on a short sale it can take longer to close on escrow. California real estate agent Charlotte Laws talks about saving money with short sales or foreclosures.

His $10 million estate is in foreclosure, he's being sued for unpaid child support and a Utah company says the boxer owes them half a million dollars for landscaping. (June 5)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] Boxer Evander Holyfield may be facing his toughest fight yet but it won't be in the ring.The former heavyweight champion's home is in foreclosure, and he may not have enough money to save it. ((JOYCE BOLDS, NEIGHOR: "I'm just surprised. I can't imagine having that kind of money and not using it wisely, if that's the case.")) This public notice appeared in an Atlanta area newspaper.If Holyfield doesn't come up with the cash by July 1st...his digs...which include 109 rooms, 17 bathrooms and a bowling alley...will go to the highest bidder.There's some speculation that the sell may not even reap the 10 million dollars he put into building this place more than 10 years ago. ((PROPERTY INVESTOR, BOB MACKELLUM: "Would you pay 10 million for it? I wouldn't. Why not. In this market? It's not worth it.)) And the former boxer's troubles don't end with his home.He's also being sued for unpaid child support...and a Utah company is seeking back pay of more than half a million dollars for landscaping services. ((MICHAEL BOLDS, NEIGHBOR: "My heart goes out to him cause I have see so many athletes who made lost of money, and then lose the money.")) Holyfield has likely made hundreds of millions of dollars over his 24-year career. His camp isn't commenting on his current financial situation.
